Deadlock Detectives is a gripping mystery series of short films following Artie Green (Russell Norton), Charles Scarn (Carter Fangmyer), and John Vickers (Cooper Vickers) as they race to unmask the elusive "Map Murderer." As Artie and Charles dive deeper into the case, uncovering cryptic clues and tangled conspiracies, they remain unaware of the chilling truth—John is the very killer they’re hunting. With tension mounting and deception lurking in every shadow, Deadlock Detectives keeps viewers on edge, blending suspense, intrigue, and a deadly game of cat and mouse.
This YouTube mystery series was created entirely by Ben Ray, who served as the writer, director, and editor. With no budget and only his creativity to rely on, Ben brought the story to life while still in high school, juggling every aspect of production, from scripting intense twists to directing performances and crafting suspenseful edits. Despite the limitations, he delivered a compelling and ambitious mystery, proving that passion and dedication can turn even the smallest project into something unforgettable.
